The Pikachu Illustrator card, a rare Pokemon collectible, reached a record-breaking value of $6,000,000. Initially awarded in a 1997 CoroCoro art competition, its prices have only been escalating over the years, with a remarkable sale at $250,000 in 2020. Moreover, in 2022, a PSA Gem Mint 10 version sold for an astonishing $6 million, previously owned by Logan Paul, who acquired it for a combined $5,250,000. Former NFL player Blake Martinez also auctioned his CGC 9.5 graded card for $672,000 in October 2022.

The Topsun Charizard, one of the earliest Pokemon cards created by Topsun before Wizards of the West Coast, fetched an impressive $493,230 at a Goldin auction last year. Released in 1995 in gum boxes, this card stands out not for its rarity or condition, but for its historical significance as part of what many believe to be the first Pokemon card set. Featuring artwork based on the Anime Charizard, its 1995 release date, though unverified, likely marks the year Pokemon was trademarked. The card's current minimum bid now stands at a staggering half a million dollars.

3. Charizard 1st Edition Shadowless Base Set

The Charizard 1st Edition Shadowless Base Set, released in 1999 and graded PSA Gem Mint 10, fetched $420,000 at a PWCC auction on March 19, 2022. Renowned as a 90s childhood icon, this card is distinguished by its lack of a shadow around the artwork's border, marking it as an early print. Furthermore, rapper Logic set a previous record by purchasing a similar card for over $226k in 2020. With only 121 such cards known to exist worldwide, this Charizard is one of the most valuable trading card game collectibles.

The Blastoise Wizards of the Coast Presentation card, a groundbreaking find in the Pokemon TCG community, fetched $360,000 at a Heritage Auctions sale in January 2021. Commissioned in 1998, this card was intended to showcase the upcoming TCG line to stores. Extremely rare, only two such cards are believed to have been produced, with just one presently accounted for. This card is one of the earliest known for the North American release. Its rarity and historical significance position it as one of the top-valued Pokemon collectibles.

5. Trophy Pikachu No. 3 Trainer Bronze

The Trophy Pikachu No. 3 Trainer Bronze card, a rarity in the Pokemon universe, was sold for an impressive $300,000 at a Heritage Auctions event in early 2023. Originating from the first Pokemon TCG tournament in Japan in 1997, these cards were awarded to the top three finishers, marking their achievement in the competition. However, less than 100 of these special Trophy Pikachu cards were reportedly printed by The Pokemon Company, contributing to their high market value. Among these, only four have been graded by PSA, with this particular PSA 8 card fetching a staggering $300K price in April last year.
