Beat Shazam is a modern-day game show featuring Foxx and his daughter Corinne. The concept of the show is that teams of two players compete against each other to figure out what song is being played. The first team to hit the buzzer and guess the song correctly wins that matchup. The number of rounds has varied throughout the seasons of the show, but there are currently four different rounds.

There are a total of three teams for each game that’s played. After the second round, the first team is eliminated, and after the fourth round, the second team is eliminated. The final round is where the remaining team competes against the Shazam application to identify songs before the software does. There are a total of five songs in the final round and each song guessed correctly is worth $25,000.

After the five songs, there's a bonus song that one of the team members can compete against Shazam to guess the song, and if they guess correctly, the team wins $1,000,000. The team that gets eliminated after the fourth round takes home some money, while the last place team takes home nothing.

While every team has the chance to win $1,000,000 on the show, there have only been three teams throughout the series’ entire existence to earn the grand prize. The catch for the sixth song is that if they guess it wrong, their total earnings from throughout the show are cut in half.

Many teams can win thousands of dollars in previous rounds, even if they don’t fare well in the final round against Shazam. The last team to win the grand prize were brothers Aaron and Martin Smith in the first episode of Season 3. The show is currently in Season 5 after being renewed in April. The season premiere aired on May 23. There have been many celebrity guest appearances throughout the show’s existence including Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Shaquille O’Neal, and TLC.

In 2018, Foxx made $3 million for hosting the music guessing game show, according to Business Insider. It isn't clear how much he makes now or how much his daughter makes on the show. The compensation he earned that year for the show matched the likes of Mike Myers, who was hosting The Gong Show and Alec Baldwin who hosted Match Game.
