On Nov. 8, 2022, people across the nation will be heading to a local polling station to cast their votes. While most polls will open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m., some will offer early voting hours. As a way to encourage individuals to get out and vote, many companies are offering Election Day freebies all day long.

Here’s a look at the businesses that will be handing out free food on Election Day and the exclusive deals only being offered on Nov. 8.

As you head out to vote on Nov. 8, you may want to make a few pit stops, either before or after you visit the polls. There are a handful of restaurants that will be giving out free food on Election Day and even a few that are extending the deal a few days longer.

Krispy Kreme is giving away a free Original Glazed donut on Election Day.

When you stop by a local Krispy Kreme store on Nov. 8, you’ll receive a free Original Glazed donut. The best part of all, no purchase is necessary to take advantage of this Election Day freebie. The deal is being offered in-store or through the drive-thru only on Election Day so be sure to grab your donut before the day’s end.

You can get a free shake from Shake Shack.

Like Shake Shack? Great. When you order one milkshake through the company’s app between 8 p.m. and closing (now through Nov. 30) you’ll get a second shake for free. Be sure to use the code “SHAKENIGHT” to take advantage of the deal.

Popeyes is offering BOGO chicken sandwiches through Nov. 9.

Between Nov. 3 and Nov. 9, Popeyes will give customers who order through the app or website a classic or spicy chicken sandwich for free. All you need to do is order a chicken sandwich combo to snag this Election Day food deal.

Get a Sonic cheeseburger for half price on Election Day.

If you need to grab a quick bite to eat as you leave the polls, check out Sonic. The fast-food restaurant is offering customers a Sonic Cheeseburger for half price when they order through the app or online. The offer is only valid on Tuesdays after 5:00 p.m.

Spend $1 at Carl’s Jr. and receive a free sandwich.

When you spend $1 at Carl’s Jr. and join the Carl’s Jr. rewards program, you’ll receive a free Western Bacon Cheeseburger, Famous Star, or Hand-Breaded Chicken Sandwich.

Taco Bell is giving away free food on and after Election Day.

Now through Nov. 12, Taco Bell is giving customers who spend $15 in the app a free Cheesy Gordita Crunch.

Sbarro is offering free pizza slices on Nov. 8.

Other exclusive deals that are being offered on and after Election Day.

In addition to giving out free food, some companies are also offering enticing deals on Election Day. Here’s a look at the ones you won’t want to miss out on.

Lyft will discount rides to the polls on Election Day.

If you don’t have transportation to and/or from the polls, Lyft is here to help. The rideshare company announced that it would be offering major discounts on rides, bike rides, and scooter rides on Election Day. Lyft says it will be giving riders 50 percent off their ride, for a discount of up to $10.

In order to access this Election Day deal, riders will need to use code “VOTE22,” which can be preloaded on the app before Nov. 8.

GrubHub will also offer deals on Election Day.

You can save some money this Election Day if you place a pickup order at select restaurants through GrubHub. Burger King is offering $3 off orders of more than $18 and California Pizza Kitchen will reward you with $10 off if you spend more than $30.

Although Election Day can be nerve-racking and a little stressful, these food deals are sure to put a smile on your face.
