In this part, we’ll discuss ConocoPhillips (COP), Occidental Petroleum (OXY), Devon Energy (DVN), EOG Resources (EOG), and Anadarko Petroleum’s (APC) YoY (year-over-year) stock performances. They were the top five upstream stocks with the highest revenues in the first quarter, as we saw in Part 1.

Outliers and underperformers

The above chart shows that ConocoPhillips (COP) was the outlier among its peers. ConocoPhillips has risen ~50.6% YoY, while Occidental Petroleum has risen ~42% YoY.

EOG Resources (EOG) and Anadarko Petroleum (APC) have also shown positive stock price growth YoY. EOG Resources and Anadarko Petroleum have risen ~37% and ~34.4% YoY, respectively.

Notably, Devon Energy (DVN) has underperformed its peers. The company’s stock has increased ~11.2% YoY.

In comparison, the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLE) has risen 16% YoY, while the S&P 500 SPDR ETF (SPY) has risen 14% during the same period.

Next, we’ll discuss the top five companies that reported the highest adjusted EPS (earnings per share) in the first quarter.
