Oasis Petroleum’s (OAS) short interest ratio (short interest as a percentage of float) on September 13, 2016, was ~19.4%. Its short interest ratio on June 30, 2016, was 16.1%. This difference means that since the end of 2Q16, Oasis’s short interest has risen ~20.5%.

Oasis’s stock price was $9.34 on June 30, 2016, and $9.7 on September 13, 2016. As you can see in the graph above, Oasis’s stock price and short interest as a percentage of float have been moving in opposite directions.

By comparison, peers Cimarex Energy (XEC) and Continental Resources (CLR) have short interest ratios of ~2.6% and ~23.5%, respectively.
