The Shark Tank reality television shows in Mexico and Brazil are very similar to the Shark Tank program in the U.S. Celebrity investors host the shows. Entrepreneurs come onto the stage and present their business ideas before a panel of celebrity investors. The investors, called sharks, want to find great business ideas. The Shark Tank Mexico and Shark Tank Brasil reality shows debuted in 2016. 

In the U.S., investors Mark Cuban, Daymond John, Kevin O’Leary, Barbara Corcoran, Robert Herjavec, and Lori Greiner host the Shark Tank show on ABC.

Who are the hosts for Shark Tank Mexico?

Shark Tank Mexico airs on Canal Sony television and Clarovideo. The show has eight sharks—Arturo Elías Ayub, Carlos Bremer, Patricia Armendáriz, Rodrigo Herrera Aspra, Marcus Dantus, Ana Victoria García, Mauricio Hoyos, and Andrea Arnau.

García, the founder of Victory 147, participated in the first season of Shark Tank Mexico. García, whose platform mainly focuses on empowering women, returned as a guest cast member during the fifth season. Hoyos and Arnau are renowned investors from Shark Tank Colombia. Hoyos is the founder of Puntored, which is a platform that seeks to serve low-income people and the unbanked in Columbia.

In 2019, a young entrepreneur named Juan Carlos Alonso raised 300,000 pesos from Shark Tank Mexico investors Carlos Bremer, Arturo Elías Ayub, and Rodrigo Herrera Aspra. Alonso presented the idea of a drink product. The sharks were so interested in the idea that they fought to be part of Alonso’s business.

A startup called K’ami, which makes environmentally friendly mouth cleaning products, raised 500,000 pesos from Shark Tank Mexico investors Rodrigo Herrera and Andrea Aranau. Online travel startup Jubel inked a deal to raise 6.0 million pesos from Shark Tank Mexico investors Arturo Elías Ayub and Rodrigo Herrera.

A teenage entrepreneur who built a sleep-inducing device inked a deal with several Shark Tank Mexico investors to raise 2.5 million pesos. The entrepreneur sought 1.5 million pesos in funding. His idea was so impressive that the sharks decided to put more money into the business. 

A renewable energy startup called Fireball inked a deal to raise 650,000 pesos from investor Arturo Elías Ayub after appearing on Shark Tank Mexico.

Shark Tank Brasil has a long list of successful deals. For example, in the first season, investors inked deals worth more than 6.0 million reais or $1.1 million for entrepreneurs.

Dozens of companies have presented their ideas on Shark Tank Brasil and many of them have walked away with good deals. A startup called Gourmet raised 600,000 reais on Shark Tank Brasil from investors João Appolinário and Robinson Shiba, and Sorocaba. Futuriste raised 200,000 reais from Camila Farani on Shark Tank Brasil

Mega Hairline, a beauty business, raised 1.0 million reais in the third season of Shark Tank Brasil from investor João Appolinário. Dating app Poppin raised 900,000 reais from Shark Tank Brasil investors João Appolinário and Camila Farani. 

Finally, Shark Tank Mexico and Shark Tank Brasil have helped motivate entrepreneurship in these countries. Given the popularity of Shark Tank show, even entrepreneurs who just make an appearance but leaves without a deal still win from the free publicity.
