Musk approves of Tesla Model 3 ranking
Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, retweeted Teslarati’s post. Model 3 was first on the top 10 list. Carwow shared the list on YouTube. Among other competitors in the category, Model 3 beat Tesla’s more expensive models including Model S and Model Y.
According to carwow’s host, Mat Watson, Model 3 is the best EV (electric vehicle) on the market today due to its tech, driving dynamics, and overall driving experience. Watson said while Model 3 is Tesla’s best car although it’s the least expensive. He also thinks that Model 3’s build quality is almost a match for German automakers. The Kia Niro, Audi e-Tron, Hyundai Kona Electric, and Jaguar I Pace were the other top EVs in the review.
Other publications praised Tesla Model 3
Germany’s leading publication, Bild, also praised Model 3 for a number of reasons. Due to the model’s interiors, panoramic roof, luggage space, “revolutionary cockpit,” and “funky acceleration,” Bild referred to Model 3 as “a fascinating car with breathtaking performance.” In June, Top Gear ranked Model 3 as the fastest charging EV in the world.
Deliveries
Model 3 is an all-electric sedan. Tesla started manufacturing the model in July 2017. Currently, Tesla produces 5,000 Model 3 units per week. The company wants to increase its production. During the second quarter, Model 3 deliveries rose 300% YoY, which contributed to its overall solid delivery growth. According to Inside EVs, Model 3’s year-to-date US sales were more than the next 16 EV models combined. So far in 2019, Tesla has sold nearly 81,100 units of its Model 3 in the US as of July.
Tesla’s success in the EV segment
Currently, there are 17 EVs in the US market compared to only 11 EVs in 2017. Many legacy automakers like General Motors (GM), Ford Motor Company (F), and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCAU) have entered the EV space. However, after revolutionizing the EV space worldwide, Tesla is still the most successful US auto company in terms of electric car segment sales. Other automakers haven’t been able to attract as many customers as Tesla.
