Activision Blizzard’s revenue is expected to fall 9.7%
Activision Blizzard (ATVI) is set to announce its first-quarter earnings results on May 2, 2019. Analysts expect the company to post sales of $1.25 billion in the quarter, a fall of 9.7% YoY (year-over-year) compared to its sales of $1.38 billion in the first quarter of 2018.

Earnings growth expected to be negative for ATVI
ATVI’s non-generally accepted accounting principles EPS are expected to fall a significant 31.6% YoY from $0.38 in the first quarter of 2018 to $0.26 in the first quarter of 2019.
Activision Blizzard has managed to beat analysts’ earnings estimates in each of the last four quarters. The company posted EPS of $1.29 in the fourth quarter of 2018, marginally higher than analysts’ estimate of $1.29. It posted EPS of $0.52 in the third quarter of 2018, 4% higher than the estimate of $0.50.
As we can see in the chart above, ATVI exceeded its second-quarter earnings estimate of $0.35, reporting earnings of $0.41. The company also exceeded analysts’ consensus earnings estimate of $0.35 by 8.6% with EPS of $0.38 in the first quarter of 2018.
Despite its earnings beat, Activision Blizzard stock has performed poorly and has fallen more than 28% in the last 12 months.
