Mattel: S&P 500’s Top Gainer on May 15

The S&P 500’s top gainers on May 15 were:

However, the release of strong retail sales data on Tuesday amid increased consumer spending pushed Mattel higher and helped the stock recover the Monday losses. Retail sales grew 0.3% in April.

On May 15, Mattel gained 6.1% and closed the day at $15.06—the highest daily close since March 8. Mattel is part of the S&P 500 Consumer Discretionary sector, which declined 0.61% on May 15.
