Oracle is highest placed in data management solutions for analytics space
Earlier in the series, we discussed Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse Cloud and its key features. In its mid-February report, Oracle (ORCL) was once again positioned highest among other players owing to its “ability to execute” in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Data Management Solutions for Analytics. Amazon’s (AMZN) AWS (Amazon Web Services), Microsoft (MSFT), Teradata, IBM (IBM), and SAP (SAP) were other players who made it to the leaders’ category.
Sharing their views on Oracle’s autonomous database, Carl Olofson and David Schubmehl wrote in their February 2018 IDC Perspective Oracle’s Autonomous Database: AI-Based Automation for Database Management and Operations, said, “Oracle is at the vanguard of a movement to make enterprise software easier to deploy, use and administer, using artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide capabilities requiring little or no human intervention to manage software.”
Organizations’ view on Oracle’s autonomous database
According to Paul Daugherty, chief technology and innovation officer at Accenture, “We are at the dawn of the intelligent enterprise era, and having an automated database is a natural progression.” He added, “Being able to build a self-driving data warehouse – in some cases, in only a matter of minutes or hours – can dramatically simplify the ability to generate powerful business insights, much faster than previously possible.”
