Aurora Cannabis and Hempco
Aurora Cannabis has acquired approximately a one-fifth interest in Hempco for a supply of raw materials at low costs for CBD (cannabidiol) extraction. CBD is primarily used in medical cannabis products. Hempco produces hemp-related food, fiber, and nutraceuticals, which are also called functional foods and used as dietary supplements.
Aurora Cannabis also has partnerships with Pedanois, which, according to the company, is the largest distributor in the European Union. Pedanois, which is based in Germany, will be key to the distribution of cannabis to other EU countries.
Aurora Cannabis also has an investment in Liquor Stores N.A. through which the company plans to convert its existing outlets to exclusively retail cannabis as will be required by law. The company has partnered with Radient Technologies for the extraction of cannabinoids.
The company also entered into an agreement with PharmaChoice, a pharmacy, to distribute medical cannabis. It also recently announced that its recently acquired CanniMed has signed a letter of intent with PharmaSave to distribute medical cannabis at 650 of its pharmacies in Canada.
