What Do Analysts Expect from Juniper’s 2Q16 Earnings?

Juniper’s 2Q16 earnings
US-based (SPY) Juniper Networks (JNPR) will be announcing its 2Q16 results on July 26, 2016. Analysts estimate that the company will post revenues of $1.19 billion for the quarter ended June 2016, with a low estimate of $1.15 billion and a high estimate of $1.22 billion.
EPS (earnings per share) is estimated at $0.47, with a high estimate of $0.51 and a low estimate of $0.44. In case Juniper meets analysts’ revenue estimates of $1.19 billion, it will still mean a YoY (year-over-year) decrease of 2.5% compared to 2Q15.
As shown in the above graph, Juniper beat EPS analyst estimates in 2Q15 by 32.5% when the company announced EPS of $0.53. It also beat analyst EPS estimates in 3Q15 and 4Q15 by 7.5% and 5%, respectively.
The company, however, posted EPS of $0.37 in 1Q16, which was lower than the analyst estimate of 2.6%.
Disappointing 1Q16 results
In April 2016, Juniper Networks announced its 1Q16 results. It reported revenues of $1.1 billion, an increase of 3% YoY and a decrease of 17% sequentially quarter-over-quarter.
Juniper is an industry leader in automated, scalable, and secure networks. It has a market capitalization of $8.9 billion. In comparison, peer companies Cisco (CSCO), Fortinet (FTNT), and Europe’s (FEP) Ericsson (ERIC) have market caps of $150.5 billion, $5.9 billion, and $26 billion, respectively.
