Pershing Square Capital Management’s positions in 4Q 2013

Bill Ackman’s Pershing Square Capital Management did not initiate new stakes in 4Q 2013. The fund’s position increases and decreases in the quarter are outlined below.

Pershing Square Capital Management is a New York–based activist hedge fund founded and run by Bill Ackman. News reports claimed that the fund saw assets under management decline due to setbacks in investments made in J.C. Penney (JCP) and a large bet against Herbalife (HLF). The total value of the portfolio fell to ~$8.2 billion in 4Q 2013 from ~$10.2 billion in 3Q 2013.
