Marc Henn on Transformational Wealth and the 'Power Plays of the Wealthy'

For Marc Henn, a Certified Financial Planner Professional, he understands that wealth isn’t an overnight thing, nor is it something that simply happens for most people. Henn’s journey into the world of finance began as a junior in high school when he took a course in personal finance that planted the seed of interest in investments. During this class, his studies ranged from how mortgages work to managing the complexities of buying a car. His interests would continue to progress as he participated in the AT&T Collegiate Investment Challenge, during which he landed among the top 50 participants nationwide.

"I was hooked and clearly found my passion,” Henn says.

However, Henn found that the naivety at the beginning of his career would drive him to further his education on the complexities of the structures of the financial world. His introduction to the fee-only world of investment finance would eventually allow him to embrace not just his knowledge of finances but of helping people as well. This would eventually lead him to start Harvest Financial Advisors, a company that helps people answer the big questions surrounding their finances.

Henn has been involved in the finance world for almost 35 years, and in working with his many clients, he wanted to share the strategies that some of the wealthiest people in the United States use to build and expand their wealth. This led to him writing his book, Power Plays of the Wealthy.

“As I have shared bits and pieces of the information within Power Plays of the Wealthy with others over the years, I recognize there is a real lack of education, understanding, and recognition of the power of a great financial plan,” Henn states. “I see myself educating in bringing this information to others so all may choose to take a different course.”

Henn says that he is fortunate in his role as a financial advisor because he gets to work in an industry that he enjoys. He also says that his wife and family have been hugely important in his business journey.

“When I started Harvest, all five of my children made me a poster congratulating me on starting the firm–full of love, pictures, and some misspelled words,” he says. “I still have the poster today, and they even made me a coffee mug 15 years later with a replica of the poster on it.”
