T-Mobile’s second-quarter revenue
Earlier, we learned about Wall Street analysts’ expectations for T-Mobile’s (TMUS) second-quarter earnings. Now let’s take a look at its total expected revenue in the second quarter.
Wall Street analysts expect T-Mobile’s total revenue to rise ~4.3% YoY (year-over-year) to reach ~$10.65 billion in the second quarter.
In the first quarter, T-Mobile reported total revenue of $10.5 billion, above Wall Street analysts’ consensus estimate of $10.4 billion. In the quarter, the company’s revenue rose ~8.8% YoY from $9.6 billion in the first quarter of 2017. The increase was mostly due to the strong ~6.5% YoY rise in the company’s service revenue from $7.3 billion in the first quarter of 2017 to $7.8 billion in the first quarter of 2018.
The growth in T-Mobile’s service revenue was mostly due to the expansion of its subscriber base and the success of its UN-carrier plan initiatives and its MetroPCS prepaid brand. Its equipment revenue rose ~15.2% YoY from $2.0 billion in the first quarter of 2017 to $2.4 billion in the first quarter of 2018.
