Schlumberger stock gains on earnings news
Schlumberger released its financial information for 3Q14 on October 16, 2014. Its stock reacted positively immediately following the earnings release. It recovered slightly to finish at $90.64, up 2.0% from $89.21 the previous day.
But the company’s stock has fallen by ~16% in the past month, mainly due to the slide in crude oil price. In the past year, the stock has traded down 3%.

Schlumberger peers
The share price of Baker Hughes Incorporated (BHI), another field-servicing company, fell by 3% following its 3Q14 earnings release on October 16. Other oil and gas field-servicing companies that have recently released their earnings, or are expected to soon, include Halliburton Company (HAL) and Weatherford International (WFT). All these companies are components of the VanEck Vectors Oil Services ETF (OIH).
