Why Did Everest Group Name Cognizant as a Leader in Digital Services?

In early October 2016, Everest Group named Cognizant (CTSH) as a “Leader” and “Star Performer” in the Digital Services business segment. As shown in the below chart, Accenture (ACN), IBM (IBM), and India’s (INDA) Tata Consultancy Services were the other companies named in the Leader quadrant by Everest.

Everest’s PEAK Matrix report looks at the digital services capabilities of the top 18 IT firms. According to the company’s press release, Cognizant was named the Leader in this segment “for its high levels of delivery capability across categories, including scale, scope, domain expertise and innovation, and delivery footprint. Cognizant’s buyer satisfaction capabilities are recognized as best-in-class.”

The major competitors in the digital transformation space include Capgemini, Wipro (WIT), Tech Mahindra, Atos, Mindtree, and IGATE.

Cognizant aims to build front-end capabilities for clients

One of the Cognizant’s strategic initiatives is to build front-end capabilities for clients, aided by digital transformation. This is expected to create personalized experiences to various stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, and employees.

According to Cognizant’s CEO, Francisco D’Souza, Cognizant’s digital capabilities have been recognized by clients, and the firm is a major player by investing in innovation.
