Actors and celebrities are known for putting in hours of work and often work with a huge group of people. Some are known for being a delight to work with while others are famous for all the wrong reasons. While it's a dream for some people to get to work with their favorite celebrities, it's no secret that some of them treat people badly. In the wake of Lizzo getting sued by three dancers for alleged sexual harassment and the creation of a hostile work environment, we are looking at 10 celebs who are allegedly a nightmare to work with and have been called out by their hairdressers, drivers, and publicists.

1. Christian Bale

In a book titled "Christian Bale: The Inside Story of the Darkest Batman", Harrison Cheung who was Bale's ex-publicist wrote that it took him five full years of therapy to get past his years of working for Bale. He said, "My therapist would describe my condition as post-traumatic stress disorder." He also said in the book, that the actor tried to make him sign an NDA before he could receive his paycheck, but he stood his ground and did not sign it. 

2. Sharon Stone

Stone's ex-housekeeper, Angelica Castillo sued her for illegally firing her after she injured her back loading the actor's groceries. She said that the celebrity refused to look at the doctor's notes and called her "stupid" as well as "crazy" for working slowly. Stone's lawyers reportedly called her claims bizarre and said that she was still covered by "health insurance as an employee of Ms. Stone". In another interview with CNN, Stone said that the lawsuit was "frivolous" and said that the claims are absurd and are fabricated. 

3. Lady Gaga

Gaga's ex-assistant, Jennifer O'Neill sued her on the allegation of not paying overtime. Legal documents revealed that she often used to share the room with the singer as she had to attend to her boss' needs all night and wasn't given her room. She even testified that Lady Gaga used to wake her up during off hours asking her to change DVDs for her. The judge ruled in her favor and said that she was entitled to overtime pay. 

4. Kim Kardashian

An unknown former employee of KKW which was Kim Kardashian's cosmetic brand, told Vice "It felt very exploitative...From the second we woke up, basically, we always had texts [waiting]. When we went to bed we would still be texting". She also talked about how there was a general expectation that people were so very lucky to have gotten the opportunity to work for her brand. "They knew that they could treat people like crap. That was very obvious," she added. 

5. Bill Murray

Bill Murray reportedly got into an argument with producer Laura Ziskin and ultimately threw her into a lake. While she called this particular incident playful she said that he displayed other behavior at the set which was not. She also said that he had threatened to throw her across the parking lot and even broke her sunglasses. Ben Dreyffuss who is the son of Bill's co-star Richard Dreyfuss tweeted, that he indeed had a meltdown because he was asking for an extra day off but was refused by the producer. He then ripped off her glasses. He then says that when his father tried to stop him, he threw an ashtray at him. 

6. Ellen DeGeneres

In the year 2020, an anonymous employee of The Ellen DeGeneres Show told Buzzfeed that the company has a toxic work environment. A former employee said, "If [Ellen] wants to have her show and have her name on the show title, she needs to be more involved to see what's going on. In a joint statement, the executive producers reacted, saying that they have tried their best to create a safe place and are "heartbroken" to hear that some people had a "negative experience." The show came to an end a few months later. 

7. Katie Couric

In 2007, Katie Couric confessed to slapping CBS Evening News editor Jerry Cipriano's arm because he used the word "sputum" in a news story about tuberculosis. She later told New York Magazine, that she got mad at him. "'You can't do this to me. You have to tell me when you're going to use a word like that.' I was aggravated, there's no question about that...I sort of slapped him around." she said. The word that he used means the mix of spit and mucus when coughing.

8. Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey was sued by her former nanny who said that she was terminated after issuing a complaint regarding the working conditions and the pay. Maria Burgues said that she was not compensated for her travel time during the singer's tours and the kids' bodyguard allegedly yelled at her and threatened her. Apart from this, Mariah Carey has also settled a lawsuit with another ex-nanny who allegedly was not paid overtime despite being on call 24/7 and working 100-hour weeks.

9. Victoria Principal

She reportedly pulled a gun on her former housekeeper, Maribel Banegas after an argument. Victoria later said that this happened after she dragged her dog into the house so violently that it suffered a back injury and then she pounded violently on the kitchen counters while yelling, "Give me money." However, her housekeeper denied all these allegations and said that she took the dog on an hour-long walk because she was waiting for it to go to the bathroom. The housekeeper later cooperated.

10. Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell has been sued by many employees over the years. She allegedly threw her phone at two different assistants in 200 and 2003 and even slapped a maid in the face. In the year 2007, after she was arrested for hitting and head-butting an ex-assistant, Naomi was spotted wearing a t-shirt that read, "Naomi hit me, and I loved it." She allegedly hit a maid with her rhinestone-encrusted cellphone so badly that she needed stitches, all because she could not find the jeans she was looking for.
