Listing a property or buying just to list it again is pretty common for celebrities. However, when they don't get the asking price, they often rent out their properties. Some celebrities also have way too many houses in different parts of the world and therefore, they decide to rent them out. Whatever the case, celebrity homes are available on the rental market for steep prices. So you can very well imagine writing a check to your celebrity landlord? Here's the list of celeb homes that are available for renting.

1. Jennifer Lawrence

Actress Jennifer Lawrence put her apartment in New York in the rental market. It can be yours for $27,500 a month, per The Real Deal. The house features a 3,184-square-foot living area with three bedrooms. The master bathroom boasts Calacatta marble with an elongated dual vanity and free-standing egg tub. She later chopped the asking price as she was unable to find any takers for the deal. The condo is in the Tribeca building and living there means having celebrities like Justin Timberlake and Harry Styles as your neighbors.

After settling into Leonard Bernstein's former home near Carnegie Hall, actor Jessica Chastain put her old Greenwich Village available for rent for $11,500 a month. With high ceilings on the first floor and a chef's kitchen fitted with high-end appliances, the tenants in this home will have a lot to enjoy. According to the listing on Halsted Property, it is "the perfect place to call home without needing to bring anything more than your toothbrush and favorite clothing."

3. Leonardo DiCaprio

The actor and environmentalist is one of the few celebs to offer rent by the night for one of his properties. He listed his Palm Springs estate for $4,500 a night which has a dedicated rental site. This home was built in 1964 by famed mid-century modern architect Donald Wexler. The actor bought the house in 2014  for a cool $5.32 million. The residence is extremely well-maintained and can be used as a great vacation spot. The house was featured on Netflix's "Instant Hotel" show. 

4. Vince Vaughn

Vince Vaughn is now renting out homes. He bought a house in the Hollywood Hills from Kate Bosworth for $2.375 million back in 2014. He is asking $12,500 a month for the 3-bedroom, 3-bath pad. Two en-suite bedrooms have two soaking tubs. The house also features massive walk-in closets, a sitting area, and a private patio. It is surrounded by lush green gardens and has a tiled swimming pool.

5. Hillary Swank

The Oscar-winning actress put her New York apartment for rent at $20,000 per month. The Manhattan house was bought in 2009 for $3.6 million and is located in the Superior Ink building. The house features a kitchen that opens up into the living room and a bathroom with marble finishes. The residence offers views of Manhattan West side including the Hudson River, the Empire State Building, and One World Trade Center. She currently lives in LA with her dad.

6. Sophia Vergara

The "Modern Family" star rented out her house in Los Angeles for $7,200 a month. She had purchased the three-bedroom unit for $1.1 million in 2007 just before she landed her hit role as Gloria on "Modern Family". In 2014, the highest-paid actress on TV moved into the grand $10.6 million Beverly Hills home and rented out the 2,071-square-foot unit which features clean white walls with dark wooden floors. The house offers great views of the city and features a gourmet kitchen.

The Harry Potter star paid close to $5 million for a two-bedroom 1,843-square-foot apartment in one of Soho's luxury high-rise buildings in 2007. Now he is renting out the Manhattan property for a cool $19,000 a month. He bought this house just after his time on the hit series Harry Potter. He bought a vintage 1800-square-foot townhouse. The house was built in 1847 and has six fireplaces. This house is extremely eye-pleasing and offers picturesque views of the city. This is one of the two houses that he owns in New York. 

8. Ivanka Trump

Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka put her apartment up for rent. She originally invested $1.5 million in the house in 2004 and has put it up for rent with an asking price of $15,000 per month. The kitchen has white marble counters solid oak floors and hand-crafted Italian brass doorknobs. According to Mansion Global, Ivanka recently chopped the asking price from $15,000 to $13,000. The house was reportedly put up for sale in 2011 for $2.95, but failed to sell for some reason. 

9. Richard Gere

"Hachiko" actor Richard Gere spent eight months looking for a tenant for his beautiful five-bedroom, three-bath apartment in New York's trending NoHo neighborhood. As per the NY Post, he was asking $20,000 per month for the newly renovated apartment which is half a city block and even has an entrance of its own. He had reportedly bought this house for $2.25 million. There's currently a family living in the house. The 5-bedroom house sits on a 3,570 square feet of area and is located in the Silk Building which is a hub of celebrity residencies. 

10. Salma Hayek

Celebrated actress and producer Salma Hayek has a ranch-style home in Los Angeles that she put up for rent in 2015. The four-bedroom, three-bedroom house is fully furnished and Hayek is asking almost $10000 a month for the house. She is known to occasionally open up her houses for rent. The four-bedroom house was built in the 1960s and has a living and dining room outside with a rustic wood mantelpiece.
