Trevor Lawrence, the first pick in the 2021 NFL draft, has more to be excited about than just joining the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Over the past month, Lawrence has secured some pretty lucrative multi-year endorsements with Gatorade, Adidas, the cryptocurrency investment app Blockfolio, and memorabilia company Fanatics.
Details about Trevor Lawrence’s Gatorade contract
Reportedly, Lawrence was a fan of Gatorade products throughout his three-year career at Clemson University. In an interview with CNBC, the 21-year-old said that he has been using Gatorade products for years, especially the protein products he used to maintain weight and build muscle while he was playing football for the Tigers.
“It has been a staple in my sports journey since I was a kid, so I couldn’t be more excited to join the brand,” Lawrence told CNBC. “I don’t just look at the financial aspects of it, but do I really fit with companies? ... I always have to ask myself, ‘Is this me?’ So Gatorade was an easy choice.”
Lawrence is the first quarterback to sign an endorsement deal with Gatorade since Cam Newton did in 2012.
Trevor Lawrence’s other endorsement deals
Recently, the website Sportico said that Lawrence was the most marketable rookie entering the NFL this season.
Besides the Gatorade deal, Lawrence also signed an endorsement deal with Adidas. According to Sportico, the deal will include Lawrence wearing Adidas cleats on the field and appearing in marketing for the brand.
On April 26, Lawrence announced on Twitter that he also entered into a partnership with the cryptocurrency investment app Blockfolio.
“Pumped to announce I’ve joined @blockfolio! Excited to help bring these two worlds together #Crypto,” Lawrence tweeted.
He also signed a multi-year memorabilia deal with Fanatics to allow his autographs and collectibles to be available exclusively through the company, Sportico reports.
Trevor Lawrence’s net worth
With his Jaguars contract and multiple endorsements, Lawrence’s net worth could shoot to over $50 million. That’s quite a jump from his $1.23 million salary at Clemson.
According to Sportico, Lawrence is expected to earn $36.8 million through his four-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Although there isn't a lot of information on how much his endorsement deals will bring in, Bob Dorfman, a creative director at Baker Street Advertising who rates endorsement potential, estimates that Lawrence’s deal with Gatorade could be worth up to $2 million.
“Since Lawrence is already a household name, he could rake in $5-7 million in endorsement dollars his rookie season,” Dorfman told CNBC.
