The "Sex and the City" writer, Candace Bushnell made it clear in an interview that she does not want kids when she said, "There are women who do it. On the other hand, there are a lot of women writers who never get married and don’t have kids. I am married, but I didn’t marry until I was 43. I knew when I was young that if I had to choose between being married and being a writer, I would have chosen to be a writer. I think it’s a career where you have to put the career first. I don’t have kids but—and luckily everyone isn’t like this—I think if you have that passion, in a way, your career is your child."

During an interview with ELLE magazine, the singer, Miley Cyrus revealed that she has no plans to have kids. "We’re getting handed a piece-of-sh*t planet, and I refuse to hand that down to my child,” the "Hannah Montana" star said. "Until I feel like my kid would live on an earth with fish in the water, I’m not bringing in another person to deal with that." She then added, "We don’t want to reproduce because we know that the earth can’t handle it." However, she did mention that she is open to adoption and may adopt a child in the future.

In an interview with PEOPLE, TV host Ellen DeGeneres said of herself and her wife Portia de Rossi in 2013, "Honestly, we’d probably be great parents. But it’s a human being, and unless you think you have excellent skills and have a drive or yearning in you to do that the amount of work that is and responsibility—I wouldn’t want to screw them up! We love our animals." Even her mother shed light on the matter saying that her daughter's lifestyle is not suited for raising kids.

"Y’know, I’ve birthed a lot of things…I feel like I’ve mothered many things, and I don’t think it’s fair to put that pressure on people," she added. People are always like—it’s something I think I was uncomfortable answering before—but they were like, ‘How do you do so much?’ The answer is I don’t have kids...I have nothing else to do."

No one’s had to give up an opportunity they wanted." Jennifer Westfeldt has said in the past that she never thought that she would reach her 40s and not have any kids. However, her outlook on life changed with age.

During her interview with Self, the writer Issa Rae said, "I like my life, I like this selfishness, and I know that I have a window, I’ve always felt that way, that women, Black women especially—unless you’re Viola Davis or Angela Bassett—you have a window when people are going to want to continue to see you and see what you can do. Then there are so many limitations placed upon you, and that does keep me up. I want to do as much as I can while I still can. I know it’s not the proper mentality to think that kids will slow you down but I do feel that way."

10. Katie Thurston

Katie Thurston admitted on the "Bachelorette" premiere that kids aren't a must-have part of her future. "For me, I want kids in some way I think. Whether it’s someone who already has a child, that’s something I’m fine with. If someone doesn’t want children, I think I’m also fine with that. I’m just open to all scenarios." The actor is open to all circumstances and doesn't feel that having a kid is mandatory.
