Pandora Was the Second-Highest Grossing App in the US Last Month

Sirius XM’s (SIRI) Pandora had a good year. SensorTower reports Pandora was the second-highest-grossing non-game app in the US in May, trailing dating app Tinder.

User spending at Match Group’s Tinder grew 41% YoY (year-over-year) to $38.5 million, while Pandora grossed $35 million in user spending. Pandora was Google Play’s top-grossing app last month.

Pandora has been a popular app on Google Play

Mobile spending on Pandora has increased sharply over the last year on Google Play, according to SensorTower. The research company estimates that Pandora’s gross revenue on Google Play grew 52% YoY to ~$54 million despite stiff competition from Apple Music and Spotify.

Overall, mobile spending on Pandora grew 12% YoY to $107 million in the first quarter, and Sirius XM’s revenue grew a robust 26.8% YoY to $1.74 billion. However, SIRI stock has fallen 26% in the last year.
