In the first quarter, Charter Communications (CHTR) reported total revenues of $11.2 billion—a rise of 5.2% YoY (year-over-year) and $7 million ahead of the consensus estimate. The company’s residential services revenues rose 4.2% YoY to $8.9 billion in the first quarter. Charter Communications’ commercial services revenues rose 4.3% YoY to $1.6 billion in the first quarter. However, the company’s advertising sales fell 3.1% YoY to $345 million in the first quarter. Charter Communications reported mobile sales of $140 million.
Analysts expect Charter Communications’ net revenues to change 5.0% YoY to $11.4 billion in the second quarter, 5.3% to $11.5 billion in the third quarter, and 4.0% to $11.7 billion in the fourth quarter. Analysts also expect the company’s net revenues to change YoY by 4.9% to $45.8 billion in 2019, 5.5% to $48.3 billion in 2020, and 4.2% to $50.3 billion in 2021.
Comcast’s (CMCSA) revenues are expected to rise 26.2% YoY to $27.4 billion in the second quarter. Dish Network’s (DISH) revenues are expected to fall 9.1% YoY to $3.1 billion in the second quarter.
