Sirius XM Subscribers Can Now Listen to Netflix’s Stand-Up Specials
By Sanmit AminUpdated
Netflix Is A Joke is Sirius XM’s latest comedy offering
Netflix (NFLX) announced on April 10 that it would be providing parts of its stand-up comedy specials, along with other original programming, on Sirius XM’s (SIRI) new comedy station, Netflix Is A Joke Radio, starting on April 15.
Netflix Is A Joke is the latest addition to the many comedy stations Sirius offers, including Comedy Central Radio, Kevin Hart’s Laugh Out Loud Network, Jeff & Larry’s Comedy Roundup, and SiriusXM Comedy Greats.
This move marks the first time Netflix is making its content accessible to another subscription service. Sirius is not a direct competitor to the streaming giant.
Netflix hopes to promote its content to Sirius subscribers
Netflix Is A Joke Radio can be found on satellite radio channel 93 for SiriusXM’s XM Select and XM All Access subscribers. The channel will include content from Netflix stand-up specials starring the likes of Chris Rock, Ellen DeGeneres, Trevor Noah, Jerry Seinfeld, Aziz Ansari, and Sarah Silverman.
The deal with Sirius means that Netflix will be able to reach a different audience with its content. The video streaming giant likely hopes that the deal with Sirius will help it promote its content. In light of increasing competition, Netflix will leave no stone unturned in its efforts to add to its subscriber base.
