The Vanguard Group held 6.6% of First Solar’s total outstanding shares as of December 31. In the third quarter, the Vanguard Group sold 0.6 million shares of First Solar.
BlackRock Institutional Trust and Wellington Management each added more than 1.0 million shares of First Solar during the fourth quarter. They have been increasing their stake in the solar company for the last few quarters. At the end of the fourth quarter, BlackRock held 6.3%, while Wellington Management held ~6% in First Solar.
AQR Capital sold more than net 1.5 million shares, while Luminus Management offloaded 0.9 million First Solar shares during the fourth quarter.
First Solar stock has risen more than 20% YTD (year-to-date). The company is scheduled to release its fourth-quarter earnings on February 21.
