Auxly Cannabis: Upstream Partners in Fiscal 2018

In the third-quarter earnings press release, Auxly Cannabis (CBWTF) announced that it completed the design of the third phase of the cultivation facility by a wholly-owned subsidiary, Kolab Project, in Carleton Place, Ontario.

According to Auxly Cannabis’ corporate presentation, the first phase of the cultivation facility in Ontario is estimated to be 10,000 square feet. The first phase is expected to result in an annual capacity of 1,000 kilograms. According to the company’s corporate presentation, the second phase of the cultivation facility at Ontario is estimated to be 10,000–18,000 square feet. The second phase is expected to result in an annual capacity of 1,500 kilograms. According to a press release, the cultivation facility in Ontario will be 20,000 square feet after the third phase is complete.

Upstream partners

On December 22, 2017, Auxly Cannabis, then called “Cannabis Wheaton Income,” issued a press release announcing its definitive agreement with CannTx Life Sciences. Auxly Cannabis is funding the construction of the latter’s cannabis production facility at Puslinch, Ontario. The company has received minority interest and entitlement to 33% of all the cannabis or cannabis-based products from the facility at a fixed cost.

On July 17, Auxly Cannabis issued a press release announcing that it granted a cultivation license by Health Canada to CannTx Life Sciences for the Puslinch facility.

Auxly Cannabis has also entered into a definitive agreement to develop a cannabis cultivation facility in partnership with FSD Pharma in Cobourg, Ontario. Auxly Cannabis will receive 49.9% of the cannabis or cannabis-derived products from the partnered portion of the facility, in perpetuity.

On April 9, Auxly Cannabis issued a press release announcing the acquisition of Robinson’s Cannabis. The deal is expected to add 27,700 square feet worth of cannabis cultivation facility to Auxly Cannabis’ portfolio. The deal is expected to strengthen the latter’s position in the premium flower segment in Atlantic Canada.
