Helix Could Be a Major Force for FireEye
By Aaron HemsworthUpdated
Importance of the Helix user interface
FireEye’s (FEYE) Helix security technology combines the company’s network, email, and endpoint security platforms with its advanced threat intelligence, threat analytics, and orchestration features. The Helix cloud user interface offers multilayer threat protection along with third-party security products providing contextual information about attackers and techniques used to breach security. Mandiant’s expert features further assist in pre-determining threat response.
FireEye’s unique cybersecurity product may help it gain market traction and counter competition from medium and large security service providers such as Palo Alto Networks (PANW), Fortinet (FTNT), Symantec (SYMC), and Microsoft (MSFT).
How Helix’s add-on subscription could help
Customers may add extra security layers such as third-party alerts to the Helix user interface, thereby providing a potential revenue stream for FireEye and boosting its ARR (annual recurring revenue). As shown in the graph above, FireEye’s ARR has grown consistently over the last five quarters, driven by the company’s renewal rate. In fiscal Q2 2018, its ARR rose year-over-year to $500 million from $440 million.
