Economic Indicators Investors Should Watch this Week

Performance of the global market

The iShares MSCI ACWI ETF (ACWI), which tracks the performance of the global market, rose marginally in December 2017. ACWI has been showing strong performance metrics since the start of 2018.

From January 2 to January 22, 2018, ACWI rose 6.0% for a significant increase since 1988. Pacific Investment Management Company (or Pimco) already advised investors to be cautious despite a strong market rally.

The stronger performance in the global markets is mostly due to solid improvement in fundamental factors in the major developed nations and emerging nations. If these economic sentiment indexes, consumer confidence, and business climate index show improvement, we could see further improvement in the ACWI ETF.
