Rice Energy’s operational efficiencies

In a presentation released in June 2016, Rice Energy (RICE) noted that its gross production was averaging 1 Bcf (billion cubic feet) per day with only 180 wells.

Daniel Rice, chief executive officer of Rice Energy, said in the 1Q16 earnings conference, “Reaching 1 Bcf per day with only 180 wells is a remarkable achievement.” He added, “To put the speed which we were able to hit this milestone into perspective, the next closest peer in this Bcf per day club is producing 1.3 Bcf with 861 wells – a production level, we believe, we’ll be able to surpass with just 250 wells.”

RICE’s key peers include Gulfport Energy (GPOR) and WPX Energy (WPX).
