T-Mobile’s Network Reliability Improves in Raleigh

In the previous part of this series, we discussed T-Mobile’s (TMUS) improvement in overall network performance in Raleigh, according to the 1st Half 2016 Metro Area RootScore Report for that market. Now we’ll look at the network reliability of the top four US wireless carriers in this market based on the same report.

According to the latest RootMetrics report, T-Mobile’s network reliability position improved in 1H16 over 2H15 in Raleigh. AT&T (T), T-Mobile, and Verizon (VZ) shared first place in this category, while Sprint (S) took fourth.

In the RootMetrics report for Raleigh in 2H15, Verizon and AT&T shared first place in this category, while Sprint and T-Mobile shared third place. This means that T-Mobile improved by two ranks in 1H16, as compared to its ranking in the 2H15 report.

Call and text performance in Raleigh

Based on the 1st Half 2016 Metro Area RootScore Report for Raleigh, the top four US carriers shared the top spot in call performance. AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon shared the top spot in text performance, and Sprint took fourth place in that category for Raleigh in 1H16.

For diversified exposure to T-Mobile, you might consider investing in the PowerShares QQQ (QQQ). T-Mobile accounted for ~0.7% of QQQ at the end of May 2016.
