T-Mobile’s network performance in Kansas City
In the last part of the series, we looked at Sprint’s (S) improved median download speeds in Kansas City for 2H15. We also saw T-Mobile’s (TMUS) improved position in the data performance metric in 2H15. Based on the RootMetrics 2H15 results for the market, T-Mobile’s (TMUS) rank in the overall network performance metric for Kansas City improved by two notches from 1H15.
Network reliability of wireless carriers in Kansas City
According to the RootMetrics 2H15 results for Kansas City, Sprint and Verizon retained their shared top spots in the network reliability metric. They shared this place with T-Mobile in 2H14.
In 1H15, T-Mobile had the third rank in this metric in Kansas City. AT&T’s position slipped a notch from 1H15 to fourth among the top four US wireless carriers in 2H15.
Instead of taking a direct exposure to Sprint stock, you may consider taking a diversified exposure to the telecom company by investing in the iShares US Telecommunications ETF (IYZ).
IYZ had ~3.9% of its holdings in Sprint (S) at the end of October 2015.
