Chilton Investment Company, LLC is a global investment management firm that aims to produce superior investment returns by aggressively seeking capital appreciation in rising markets and preserving capital in declining markets. The firm was founded in 1992 by Richard Chilton Jr.

Chilton Investment’s top 10 holdings for 4Q14

The hedge fund’s top positions include W.R. Grace & Co. with 6.20% of the total portfolio, Sherwin-Williams Co. with 3.77%, and Union Pacific Corp. and Covidien Plc. with 3.22%.

Chilton Investment Company’s 4Q14 activities

In 4Q14, Chilton Investment Company saw the value of its US long portfolio decrease from $2.97 billion to $2.86 billion. This series will review the main positions the hedge fund traded during the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter ended in December 2014.

Chilton Investment Company started new positions in Sonic Corporation (SONC), Endo International plc (ENDP), Apache Corporation (APA), and Realogy Holdings Corp. (RLGY). It closed positions in FedEx Corporation (FDX) and Priceline Group Inc. (PCLN). Chilton increased position in FleetCor Technologies, Inc. (FLT) and Covidien plc (COV). It decreased positions in Wynn Resorts Ltd. (WYNN) and Timken Company (TKR). Chilton holds more than 140 stocks in its investment portfolio.

Chilton has also invested 0.37% in the Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE), which tracks 45 publicly listed companies in the energy sector.
