According to Visa’s management, consumers want online payments to be as easy as possible, which presents a significant opportunity for improvement.

Improved technology can ease card transactions for consumers, removing potential obstacles related to transaction authentication. Visa has focused on easing e-commerce transactions for consumers and merchants to maintain its transaction volumes.

Visa Checkout

Visa Checkout is a tool that addresses issues related to reliability, security, and ease of use. Once a customer’s credentials are entered in Visa Checkout, the securely stored information allows the consumer to shop again without re-entering this information.

Merchants’ concerns include a loss of sales when a customer’s card is rejected due to reduced authentication rates. Visa noted that it has been working to resolve this issue.

Visa has a beta value of ~1.1. Its peers (XLF) Vantiv (VNTV), Fidelity National Information Services (FIS), and American Express (AXP) have beta values of 0.59, 0.88, and ~1.1, respectively.
