Hewlett Packard Enterprise Is Eyeing These Key Growth Areas
HPE and cybersecurity
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is now hoping that innovation will drive sustainable revenue growth, and so it’s investing in growth areas such as cybersecurity, IoT (Internet of Things) and AI (artificial intelligence).
Cybersecurity is growing in importance across industries and market segments. In June 2017, HPE claims to have launched the most secure industry standard server with embedded silicon-based security. HPE stated that firmware attacks can be reduced using this technology.

At the same time, HPE is now integrating a behavioral analytics-based security software with its networking portfolio. HPE will be competing with established players in the security space, including Cisco Systems (CSCO), FireEye (FEYE), and CheckPoint (CHKP).
IoT and AI
HPE believes that industrial IoT will provide ample opportunities to drive revenue growth, as it should help customers “transform everything from retail environments to manufacturing floors.” CEO (chief executive officer) Meg Whitman stated: “Our solutions and services capabilities are allowing customers to connect, monitor and analyze these environments, enable new customer experiences, new revenue streams, and reduced cost structures.”
Notably, HPE’s Aruba Wireless Connectivity Business is already seeing growth driven by IoT.
Meanwhile, HPE aims to help customers simplify their operations through AI. Nimble Storage’s predictive analytics machine learning technology is used to predict and resolve issues across HPE’s storage portfolio.
