Profit drivers

In the near term, Monsanto expects penetration in the Americas market to increase its profits 30% in 2017. The company expects its Intacta Pro soybean seeds to deliver growth of more than 15 million acres in South America. The company also expects its Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans to grow by 20 million acres. Higher yield is critical because the population continues to expand.

Similar to the Corn segment’s profit drivers, the company’s Climate FieldView Digital Agricultural Platform will add to the gross profit drivers along with Next-Gen Seed Treatments including Nemastrike Technology.
