Profit drivers

In 1H17, the company saw an increase in South America’s planted acres and improved germplasm prices. Other profit drivers increased market share in the US and Europe despite lower global planted acres.

In the future, the company’s Climate FieldView Digital Agricultural Platform will add to the company’s gross profit drivers along with Next-Gen Seed Treatments that include Nemastrike Technology. In the longer term, the company expects its insect control and weed control products and the drivers mentioned above to increase its profitability beyond 2021.

It’s important to note that insect control technology related to Trecepta and SmartStax Pro depends on regulatory approvals.

Currently, the company continues to struggle in the market. The sector (MOO) is saturated with a handful of large players including Dow Chemical (DOW), DuPont (DD), and Syngenta (SYT).
